Students will use specific fractions as musical time signatures and improvise rhythm patterns on percussion instruments using musical meters. Also, students will mathematically graph the rise and fall of melodies in songs, and use graph paper to chart the shape of melodies by pitch and duration. We will also explore animated graphical music notation through a variety of websites.
